Greetings:
My name is Shawn Lambert and I am proud to be the principal of Livermore Falls High School (LFHS).  LFHS is a public high school in Maine School Administrative District 36.  We serve over 300 students in grades 9-12 from the communities of Livermore and Livermore Falls, Maine.

Livermore Falls High School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.  We are a mission-driven school; I invite you to review our Mission and Expectations for Student Learning (http://les.sad36.org/LHS/Images/LFHS_MissionStatement.pdf).  We are committed to meeting the individual needs of all students through a rigorous curriculum.

We offer a varied educational program.  Students are required to earn 24 credits in order to obtain a diploma.  These credits must include 4 in English, 3 in social studies (including U.S. History), 3 in mathematics, 3 in science, 1 in health, 1 in physical education, and .5 in fine arts.  We also have a number of elective courses including baking, web page design, French and Spanish, furniture making, and anatomy.

Students in grades 11 and 12 are also invited to attend Kenneth Foster Technical Center in Farmington, Maine, a regional technical school.  The programs at KFTC range from digital media production and forestry to composites and alternative energy.  A course catalog can be found at http://www.msad9.org/FRATC/.

This year we are once again offering Plumbing through Ranor, Inc., a mechanical contractor in Jay, Maine.  Taught by a master plumber, this course uses national curriculum and assessments to prepare students for entry-level technical positions.

Finally, we offer a strong arts program at LFHS.  Our band is the pride of the community, our dramatic program’s success far surpasses the capacity of our building, and our visual arts courses are second to none.

Outside of the classroom, students may participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular opportunities.  We have a tradition of athletics, a dynamic dramatic program that consistently includes many parents and community members, and a collection of co-curricular trips to colleges, theaters, other states, and other countries.  From 2006-2008, students took school-sponsored trips to Boston, Quebec, Montreal, New York City, and London.  Truly, there is something for everyone at Livermore Falls High School!
I invite you to tour this website to see the wonderful things happening at Livermore Falls High School.  If you have any questions, feel free to email me at slambert@sad36.org.

Sincerely,

Shawn L. Lambert
Principal
